... Censorship

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55: 10 & 11

Censorship

Meaning: Suppressing or prohibiting any part of news that is considered politically unacceptable.

Synonyms:  Ban, blackout, restriction, suppression and control.

Censorship’s Affect on a Society

It leads to a lack of information and development of apathy, ignorance, conformism and stagnation.  It threatens Democracy while encouraging subversive government activity—fostering idealism through indoctrination and government control.

Censorship violates freedom of speech as people cannot speak out about the evil in society.  It restricts accurate information that empowers communities.  The lack of access leads to ignorance of knowledge—stunting one’s power of reason and intellect to make personal choices.

Internet censorship is against freedom of speech and violates human rights.  The internet is an essential global tool whereby people engage in free speech worldwide.

Historical Censorship

In ancient history, justification and implementation of a government’s “Thought Control” were rare.  Socrates and Plato recognized that cities/countries/territories with evil regimes did not permit “THIER” misconduct to be questioned, challenged or corrected.  In the age of Roman Emperors such as NERVA C.30-98CE to Marcus Aurelius (121-180), every individual had the right to hold and defend their own opinions.

God our creator, in his words, compels us in Galatians 5:1:

“It is for FREEDOM that I set you FREE.  STAND firm then and CHOOSE not to submit to the yoke of BONDAGE and CONTROL.”

The disciples Peter and John in Acts 4:13-21 stood firm against the leaders of the present-day censorship of “Free Speech.”  Christian writers stood their ground that society was not to impede their liberty of speech.

William Blackstone 1765-69

“The liberty of the press consists in laying no previous restraints upon publications.  Every free person has an undoubted right to lay what sentiments they please before the public; to forbid this is to destroy the freedom of the press.

The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, Ratified in 1791, states:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.  This First Amendment guarantees that a person is always entitled to examine and access the doings of the government.  Along with the right to replace any government deemed unsatisfactory”.

Lord Macaulay

“Foreigners who dare NOT print words reflecting on the government under which they reside, these citizens are then un-informed and suffer an uneducated understanding of how the so-called “Free Press” is being dismantled.”

Never in my lifetime did I think that my nation would be subject to Internet censorship. I am reeling in SHOCK.  Yet it is REAL.  I implore YOU, my readers, to allow God to penetrate your mind, will and emotions with his TRUTH so He can empower you to STAND FIRM in your personal CHOICE of FREEDOM.

And all the people said

AMEN
