I do not stand afar off my people whom I have created for my GLORY. I do not hide in your times of trouble. In their arrogance, the wicked leaders hunt down the weak, who are caught in the schemes they devise. They boast of the cravings of their heart reviling ME the LORD. In their pride, they do not seek me. Their thoughts have no room for me, the CREATOR. These leaders’ ways are prosperous; they reject my laws. They have no room in their thoughts for me. Saying to themselves, “Nothing will ever shake them, no one will ever do THEM harm.” Their mouths are full of lies and threats; trouble and evil are under their tongues.
They wait near villages, towns and cities to ambush the free and innocent. Ever vigilant, watching in secret. Like a lion undercover, they lie in wait to catch the helpless, seeking to drag them off to incarceration. Victims are crushed and collapse and fall under their strength. Once again, these leaders say to themselves, “God will never notice; he covers his face and eyes.”
I ARISE AS YOUR MIGHTY LION KING; I DO NOT FORGET YOU, THE HELPLESS.
I see the trouble of you…my AFFLICTED. I consider your grief and take it in hand. Commit yourselves to me; I am your FATHER, your HELPER.
I break the arm of the wicked leader. I call them to account for their evil which they think will not be FOUND OUT.
I am the LORD the KING forever and ever. The evil rulers of nations will perish from their lands.
I, GOD ALMIGHTY, hear the desires of you the AFFLICTED. I encourage you; I listen to your cries of desparate oppression.
I am defending YOU who are OPPRESSED so that mere earthly leaders may NEVER strike again in TERROR.
