“I, the LORD your Creator, bring death and make alive. I bring people down to the grave and raise people. Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son whom she named Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the LORD for him. I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him”. I turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.” I sweep people away in the sleep of death. Your times are in my hands. As soon as the King of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and said, “Am I GOD? Can I kill and bring back to life?” I am Almighty God and in my hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. I have appointed for mortals once to die and after this the judgement, so Christ, having been offered once to bear your sin, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are waiting for his return.”
I Samuel 2:6; I Samuel 1:20,27; Psalm 90:3; Psalm 31:15; II Kings 5:7; Job 12:10; Hebrews 9:27,28
God gives and takes life away. All through his scriptures, he repeats this truth.
God is the giver of life, and as his created individuals, we are accountable to him. Only God can terminate our life on earth. He chooses when we are born and when it is our time to leave this earth. Job 1:21 “Naked came I from my Mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; the name of the Lord be praised”. We enter and depart this world…NAKED. “Now see that I, even I am he, and there is no other God but me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; nor is there any who can deliver from my hand” Deuteronomy 32:39.
God almighty reminds us of his power and control over life and death, for he is the Sovereign Creator. As humans, if we choose to defy God’s authority by using EUTHANASIA, we are saying we do not acknowledge God’s right of control in life and death. Thus making ourselves GOD, of which we will be subject to his judgement.
For God reserves himself all authority over life and death. He causes life to begin and to end. At the end of life or anytime during life on earth, we humans do not have the right to decide who lives or dies; only God does. It is not the will of God for us to take a life. We are not to make a decision that will deliberately cause the end of life.
We are held accountable for the life of a fellow human, “I Almighty God demand an accounting for the life of another human being” Genesis 9:5.
My fellow readers, I encourage you to hear God’s voice in this solemn prevalent national matter. Attune your heart to that of your beloved Creator. Once again, align yourself with his loving, benevolent and rightful control of our lives.
